Elio Camacho, a San Francisco painter, is an accomplished colorist who teaches in oil and acrylic. He uses engaging demos in his still life workshops and stresses design and color theory in conveying emotion and effective composition. His technique incorporates an ala prima approach to mixing color on the canvas as well as the palette. Revealing how warm and cool colors, value and transparency control composition, depth and focal points of the painting, Elio can help you bring new life to your work.

Students will work from still life setups in the studio that provide basic challenges of composition, form, texture, highlighting and shadowing. Each student is given personal attention with care not to discourage their style or vision, but to enhance them. This workshop is meant to help the student to raise the bar on their own work by finding new freedom in painting. Let your brush become your voice!
