Eco Printing is
contact printing of plants onto fabric.
In this 3 Day Eco Print workshop with Kathy Hays you will learn about
plants, fabrics, equipment, processes and bundling techniques. Silk and wool
fabrics will be used as they have an affinity for plants and create fantastic
prints. Emphasis will be placed on
design elements, shaped resist and spontaneous surprises. In addition to learning these techniques you
will also have the chance to print a silk top found in thrift store on the
third day. A discussion of how to print
and sew clothing will also be included.
The techniques presented in this workshop are perfect for fiber artist, feltmakers, dyers and art quilters who are seeking a new
medium for personal expression. No
experience necessary, just a willingness to experiment and enjoy the bounties
of nature. Some hand strength is needed to create bundles. This workshop is
designed to learn essentials to successfully carry out printing at home.
