Hanging out, drinking delicious coffee, talking about art… ahhhh, that’s the life! Well, that IS the life at least for an hour or so each month at the Dunedin Fine Art Center’s Coffee and Conversation series. Enjoy coffee (Presented by the Sterling Society of DFAC) and insights as each month’s invited guest holds forth on their own area of expertise. Admission to these relaxed talks is $5 and is FREE to current DFAC members.
Thursday, March 8th, 2018 at 12 noon, the series hosts artist Susan Wiley. Susan will discuss her works that reflect her view of Florida in watercolors and fun quirky views of semi-abstract subjects with attitude, which she has dubbed “Soft Abs”. She will present a slide show of her works, the philosophy, approach and story behind her paintings. She will show and talk about some of the paintings she has in progress, including the Cigar Series and Our Natural Floridians.
Susan Wiley is a self-taught artist and has been teaching and developing art programs for over 20 years. Before then, she was a nurse then a nursing textbook editor. It was in nursing that she developed her philosophy toward life and has applied that to her art. She has learned to embrace everyday joys and the people who reflect that, which is evident in her work.
Susan presently teaches at the Dunedin Art Center, the Suntan Arts Center and online.
