Award winning fiber artist, Lorraine Turner, will inspire you to create beautiful, intricate painted collages with fabric and thread. This is a one-day workshop. Although this is open to all levels, students must know how to operate a sewing machine and be familiar with stitching with a dropped feed dog. You will learn the basics of creating a fabric collage. Students will be using a sewing machine. Learn step-by-step techniques, such as: • Creating templates using photos • Raw-appliqué • Free-form thread painting Students should bring their sewing machines to class in good working order with the ability to do free-motion sewing.
