We, like you, have concerns about the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. We wanted to let you know about the steps we are taking here at DFAC to keep our students, visitors, faculty, staff, and volunteers safe and healthy. Please know, that this is our highest priority.
Though we normally clean and sanitize our facilities on a regular basis, over the past couple of weeks, we have increased the frequency, especially on “high touch” areas, such as buttons, doorknobs and other surfaces.
At our facility, we are fortunate to have 34 fully stocked hand-washing stations, for the use of our students and visitors. Signage encourages their frequent use by everyone. We of course also encourage visitors to keep a social distance from other visitors, and you will notice low touch (elbow bumps anyone) and no touch (how about a wave or the ever popular Vulcan “live long and prosper” hand greeting) being used throughout the facility. We hope everyone understands and shares the intent of these alternate forms of address, which you will see replacing traditional handshakes or hugs.
We require that any of our staff who might be ill to stay home. We hope that you will also not visit DFAC if you are experiencing any symptoms of illness. Please come back another day, when we know you will be feeling better!
These procedures and guideline are developed in accordance with the CDC, along with State of Florida and Pinellas County Health departments. Know that we are staying apprised of the CDC’s evolving recommendations. The health and safety of the entire DFAC community is our top priority.
Our galleries are open and classes, and events continue to take place as scheduled. Please feel free to check our website regularly for updates as we continue to monitor all current recommendations.
