Wheels on Wheels (a mobile pottery experience) is Officially LAUNCHING.
After years of gestation in the mind of DFAC’s Youth Education Director, Todd Still and with the help of the Pougialis/Anastatakis Foundation for the Arts, the Wheels on Wheels mobile pottery studio is ready to hit the streets.
Join DFAC and Foundation members for an official launch party at 10 am on March 15th. Refreshments will be served and though you’re invited sit at a wheel, or join in some hand-building excitement, students from Academie DaVinci (a Pinellas Charter School) will be on hand to show us ALL how it’s done and why this is going to be such a popular program for schools around the bay area.
Wheels on Wheels mobile pottery experience is based on a converted school bus. The bus has been retrofitted to contain 10 pottery wheels and all the necessary equipment for clay lovers of all ages to make some beautiful art together. While 10 students are being instructed on the ins and outs of throwing clay on the wheels, an additional group can explore the possibilities of using clay to hand-build whatever their minds can conjure under a shaded canopy outside the bus.
All at the Dunedin Fine Art Center – 1143 Michigan Blvd. – Dunedin, FL – 727.298.DFAC more info at www.dfac.org
