The FIFTEENTH Year for wearable ART Promises a Memorable end to Summer!
It’s hard to believe that it was FOURTEEN years ago that The Dunedin Fine Art Center’s incredibly successful wearable ART fashion show made its debut before its first SOLD-OUT crowd. Now in its 15th year, this always surprising event promises to continue to be the standard against which all other art/fashion shows are measured.
wearable ART was indeed one of the first in the area 14 years ago to showcase a growing contingent of artists working in fashion related ways. It continues that tradition in its fifteenth year featuring runway presentations by Jenna Barnes, Mark Byrne, Melissa Dolce, the Garden Fairies + Electric Diva, Johnny Hunt, Kikimora Studios, Cindy Linville, and Frank Strunk III. Perennial wearable ART favorite, Lina Teixeira will be showcasing some NEW designs in a non-runway display crafted especially for wearable ART 15. All of this is crowned by the incredible hair & make-up artistry of Salon GW.
“With the inimitable Frank Strunk III coming back, Kikimora up again from Miami, and the rest of this year’s incredible line-up, THIS is going to be the year that people talk about ,” claimed Catherine Bergmann, DFAC’s Curatorial Director. “The thing is, ALL of the designers seem to up the game very year… It just keeps getting more fantastic, if that’s possible?” she concluded.
Great music has always been a hallmark of ALL DFAC events. This year’s wearable ART will be no exception. Both the the Pre-Glow and After-Glow parties will feature LIVE Music
If the Shoe Fits… is a celebratory exhibit shown in conjunction with Wearable Art 15 that invited the arts community to create shoes in all shapes and styles, using the media of their choice. People’s Choice Awards will be determined by popular vote!
As if that’s not enough, this year DFAC is adding a fashion boutique offering artist-made wares, that they are calling GROOVE-tique. This select group of artisans will be showcasing fashion related merchandise for sale ONLY during the event and pre and post parties!
This is a huge event and takes two facilities to pull it off! Tickets are available for every budget!
This year, those prized seats go for $85, $110 or $135, and go on sale July 15th to the public. If past years are any indication, you’ll want to score your tickets early, while they’re still available.
Back by popular demand, is the PARTY TICKET for $20 this year. Enjoy the pre and post parties with this indoor standing-room option…. enjoy all the music and fun and catch the runway show on a HUGE video monitor… Now, you have NO excuse for missing the art party of the year!
