DFAC Summer Camp Offerings Available for Registration
How do you make an already successful Summer Camp Program even better? “MORE is better” according to Todd Still, Director of Youth Education at the Dunedin Fine Art Center. This year the camp offers programs for teens as well as a new iPad Camp, separate Arts in Motion and Mural Madness Camps. “We’re trying to offer the breadth of programs that parents are looking for” says Mr. Still.
In order to reflect the quality of instruction that happens each week, with certified art instructors in most of the classrooms, a few years back, DFAC started referring to their summer youth offerings as the Summer Art Academy. “Though we still refer to each week as a camp, parents agreed that the term Academy better reflects how our offerings differ from many camps in the area” said Mr. Still.
George Ann Bissett, President of DFAC feels the camps are growing because of the positive experience the children are having. “Studies show” she notes “that children who study art, end up doing better in ALL of their studies, so that makes our programs pretty popular with parents too!”
The Summer Art Academy which runs from June 8th through August 5th provides exciting camp experiences for children 4.5 – 16 years old. Weekly themes provide different experiences for each camp. The offerings include:
