INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PASTEL SOCIETIES TO PRESENT ITS 36th JURIED EXHIBITION AT DUNEDIN FINE ART CENTER
DUNEDIN, FLA. – The International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS) will present its
international juried pastel show April 6 through May 10, 2020 at Dunedin Fine Art Center, 1143 Michigan Blvd., with an artists’ reception April 18, 12 noon to 2 p.m. All events are free to the public. Events on Reception day include: pastel painting demonstrations, a gallery walk-through by Brooke Allison, and a booth representing Mount Vision Pastels. The exhibit will include 86 pastel paintings juried from 1114 entries from the U.S. and 11 countries around the world.
“This is truly a magnificent exhibit showing the diversity of this magical medium,” said Shirley Anderson, Exhibition Chair. “Without a doubt, the public will be astounded as to how skilled the artists are at their craft and how varied techniques showing everything from abstraction to photo realism can be created with pastel.”
The International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS) was founded in 1994, by Urania Christy Tarbet, as a non-profit organization representing pastel societies worldwide in the common cause to demonstrate the validity and quality of pastel fine art. This coming together of pastel societies provides a strong voice for pastel artists and the luminous medium of pastel. The foundation of IAPS is based on networking and sharing. Individual artists benefit and expand their knowledge through the IAPS Member Society of their choice. The organization is currently comprised of 94 member societies and continues to grow every day.
