Well, that IS the life at least for an hour or so each month at the Dunedin Fine Art Center’s Coffee and Conversation series. Enjoy FREE coffee (Presented by the Sterling Society of DFAC) and FREE insights as each month’s invited guest holds forth on their own area of expertise.
Thursday, Decmber 12th at 12 noon,the series hosts Dee Kilgo, Ph.D. Dee will give a slide talk on presentation on The Myth of the Mona Lisa. Have you ever wondered why Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa painting is the best known, most written about, most visited, most adulated, and most parodied artwork in the world? In Dee’s slide lecture you’ll hear the entertaining stories behind the creation and enduring appeal of this iconic image. Join us for art history that’s fun and informative!
Dee (Dolores) Kilgo is Professor Emeritus of Art History at Illinois State University. A native Midwesterner, Dee has a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois. Her teaching specialties are 19th-century European and American painting and the history of photography. Recipient of several teaching awards, Dee has authored two books and numerous articles. She has also received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Smithsonian Institution. Dee currently resides in Dunedin, FL and Godfrey, IL
