FREE Coffee and Conversation with Lorraine Potocki at the Dunedin Fine Art Center.
Hanging out, drinking delicious coffee, talking about art… ahhhh, that’s the life! Well, that IS the life at least for an hour or so each month at the Dunedin Fine Art Center’s Coffee and Conversation series. Enjoy FREE coffee (Presented by the Sterling Society of DFAC) and FREE insights as each month’s invited guest holds forth on their own area of expertise.
Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 12 noon, the series hosts artist Lorraine Potocki. Lorraine wanted to be an artist since she was old enough to hold a crayon in her hand. With a degree in Fine Art and Education from The College of New Jersey, she enjoyed a successful career in marketing until 2008 when she finally began living her dream, to be an artist, and started her business, Florida Pastels.
On May 9, Lorraine will talk about her work and career and will present a live demonstration as well.
Acrylic painting was her medium for years, but when she moved to Florida, she met and studied with master pastelist, Brooke Allison, and fell in love with the beauty of pastels. She has won awards for her art and has participated in shows throughout the greater Tampa Bay area.
Lorraine has been active in the community as a workshop presenter and teacher. She is on the faculty of Dunedin Fine Art Center and the Life Enrichment Center in Tampa.
Her love of living in Florida is obvious in her work. With each new painting, she says, she uncovers another nuance of the medium, a new way to treat a subject, a way to capture a moment in time through her eyes
