DFAC Honors Elected Officials for Their Role in DFAC’s Recent Expansion.
On Sunday, July 27th , over 100 people gathered to thank locally elected officials for their help in securing $1.5 million for the Dunedin Fine Art Center’s recent expansion. The funds, from both The State of Florida and the City of Dunedin were combined with over $2.5 in private funds to double DFAC’s physical plant to nearly 40,000 sq. ft. The finished project will add 7 studio classrooms and a new gallery to support the growing demand for DFAC’s popular programs.
Receiving recognition on Sunday, were Florida State Senator, Jack Latvala, Florida State Representatives, Ed Hooper and Carl Zimmerman along with the Dunedin City Commission (Ron Barnette, Julie Bujalski, Dave Eggers, Heather Gracy and Julie Scales) and Dunedin city manager, Rob DiSpirito.
Long time DFAC supporter Syd Entel pointed to the long relationship DFAC has enjoyed with the City of Dunedin, to the betterment of the entire community. “Everybody wins when a program of this quality is the result,” she noted.
The plaques, presented to the honorees by DFAC president, Charlie Klein noted that the community spirit evidenced by the support of the individuals represented the highest form of constituent service.
