The Dunedin Fine Art Center is enjoying having new gallery space to showcase art. One of the things the new space allows us, is to occasionally partner with groups needing space for already curated exhibitions according to Catherine Bergmann, DFAC’s Curatorial Director. Two such opportunities present themselves over the next couple of months in the form that DFAC is terming “Pop-Up Shows.” One exhibit will only be two weeks long, while the other will run for a month. While DFAC normally showcases work in exhibitions that they put together for anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months, this is not so unusual notes George Ann Bissett, DFAC’s President. We have had a long history of working with the Miniature Art Society of Florida, who present their exhibits here for usually three weeks or so, every few years. In fact they are currently in the middle of their 41st annual exhibition, that runs through February 7th this year.
The first show to Pop-Up after that will be Quilter’s Crossing 2016 Challenge, “An Expression of Happiness,” which runs from 2/12/16 through 2/28/16. This exhibit will feature the work of one of Tampa Bay’s most vibrant quilt guilds, Quilter’s Crossing.
DFAC is honored to host this vibrant local quilters quild’s annual challenge quilt show.
