Sara Ratza

Sara Ratza received her BA in Studio Art from Indiana University, Bloomington, minoring in Art History. With concentrations in Graphic Arts and Metalsmithing/Jewelry Design, Sara began her graphic design career focused on creating business identities and marketing, later deciding to become a certified art teacher. Sara’s teaching experience is extensive starting from her youth including teaching all levels and ages of studio art as well as AP Art History in the public school setting. While homeschooling her son, Sara has studied food as medicine and received her Board Certification as a Holistic Health Practitioner, as well as becoming certified as a Clinical Western Herbalist and Florida Master Naturalist. Her business of making craft chocolate allowed her to travel across the country studying plants and their medicinal benefits while teaching large audiences about the wonders of Theobroma cacao. Sara has won several international awards for her craft and in 2023 she self-published her first book on chocolate. Throughout this time, Sara still had art close to her heart by creating in all mediums with nature as inspiration. Being “called back to her roots”, Sara closed her business in 2024 to allow her the freedom to focus on teaching and to do more of what she loves. Sara has been involved in the Dunedin Fine Art Center since she moved to Florida in 2004 including years of teaching summer camp and is happy to be “home” once again.
