Eric Oberg has been a professional stone carver serving clients creating monuments in granite and other stone since 1975. Most of the work is directly carved without a reference model, because the form is familiar enough to find by applying known proportions, etc. More complicated work is done by referring to a model or 3D sketch – either full scale or smaller. Models can be made of plasticine or clay and cast in plaster. Enlarging is routine by various traditional methods. Past work can be seen in a Facebook page: Eric Oberg, Monument Sculptor; including portraits, statuary, architectural carvings, floral carving, animal subjects, bas-reliefs, busts, etc. in a wide range of sizes.
