You Could’ve Been Anything If You’d Wanted: Tempus Projects at 16
Date: September 19, 2025 - December 23, 2025
Gallery: Entel Family Gallery + Douglas Whitley Gallery
For sixteen years, Tempus Projects has been a vital force in Tampa’s cultural life as an independent, artist-driven space that has amplified emerging voices while also bringing nationally recognized artists and ambitious exhibitions to the community. Since its founding, Tempus Projects has provided a platform where contemporary art and culture can be engaged with directly, fostering connections between artists and audiences, and cultivating an environment of learning, experimentation, and dialogue.
This anniversary exhibition celebrates that legacy by presenting the work of sixteen artists—one for each year of Tempus Projects’ history—whose practices have been integral to the space’s story. Together, they reflect the breadth and depth of Tempus Projects’ impact: as a site for discovery, a stage for creative risk-taking, and a cornerstone for community exchange. More than a commemoration, the exhibition underscores the crucial role that non-profit spaces like Tempus Projects play in sustaining vibrant cultural ecosystems, where artistic expression, critical thought, and collective experience intersect.
Hosting this exhibition at the Dunedin Fine Art Center further highlights the shared mission of community art spaces across the region. Like Tempus Projects, DFAC is dedicated to creating opportunities for artists and audiences to connect through exhibitions, education, and dialogue. Together, such institutions strengthen the cultural fabric of Tampa Bay, demonstrating how nonprofit art centers can collectively nurture creativity, inspire curiosity, and ensure that the arts remain an essential part of community life.
