Join us for Coffee & Conversation at DFAC, where art and insight blend over a great cup of coffee. Sponsored by DFAC’s Sterling Society â€” with coffee generously provided by Lane’s Lemonade â€” each session features a guest artist sharing their creative journey. Curatorial Director Danny Olda leads a Q&A to explore the story behind the artist and their work.

Admission is $5, or free for DFAC members—an enriching way to connect with art and the community.

✨ Update: Samo will be joining us LIVE via Zoom as they’re feeling under the weather. We’re so glad they can still be part of the conversation—and this way, everyone stays healthy while we don’t miss out on an inspiring talk!

Davis has worked in fashion, graphic design, and marketing, and developed their love of VR/AR when working in real estate in New York City.

Past Exhibit at DFAC: Low Tide / High Root: APIDA Diasporic Perspectives

Samo Davis recently exhibited at the Dunedin Fine Art Center as part of our Winter Exhibition, Low Tide / High Root: APIDA Diasporic Perspectives. The exhibition brought together seven Tampa Bay artists of Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) backgrounds, exploring the blending of cultures, traditions, and technologies through work that moves between personal narratives and collective memory—from reimagined traditional forms to AI-driven animation and pop-culture-inspired storytelling.

Davis, alongside Petra Gurin, presented a collaborative sculptural installation exploring Asian identity through the lens of growth, decay, and memory. The piece incorporated live flower cuttings, perennials, plastic, 3D printing, pompoms, beads, nylon, burlap, chia, mirrors, pottery, Hungarian peppers, and Japanese candy. A small, human-like geometric figure peers over a glass wall, adorned with plants, flowers, and grass—its surface shifting with living elements that symbolize aging, beauty, and the passage of time.
