W-JW313 Fun with Metal Clay with Barbara Rivolta
June 6 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Workshop
All levels welcome!
Have you heard about metal clay? It is an exciting medium—almost magical—that turns malleable clay into precious metals. Finely ground silver combined with an organic binder allows you to make deeply textured and easily formed jewelry pieces that can be torch or kiln fired. Metal clay pieces can also be combined with wire or sheet metal using traditional metal smithing techniques. It is very suitable for mixed media combining glass, ceramic, polymer clay and other materials. If you’ve wanted to try it but do not want to commit to a six-week class or just want to have a fun day trying out a new craft, this class is for you! We will make earrings and pendants that we will torch fire and finish. You will have a lovely, finished pair of fine silver earrings and a pendant with matching fired-in stones to take home with you at the end of the day. A materials fee of $70 includes silver clay, cubic zirconia gems, and sterling silver findings paid to instructor
