W-JW149 Simply Soldering: Tips and Tricks to help you master this most necessary jewelry fabrication skill

March 13, 2027 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Two Day Workshop
All levels welcome!

Soldering is a vital part of jewelry fabrication, but one of the biggest stumbling blocks for artisans of all skill levels!

Learning flame control, metallurgy, heat control and just how far you can push the metal before disaster strikes will give you an in-depth understanding of soldering and how to use it to your best advantage. Metal and solder react differently to different torches and gases. Using a propane/oxygen set-up is different from using acetylene/air, etc. Different tips, different metals, different solders, even different soldering surfaces such as charcoal both hard and soft, ceramic, fire brick, solderite board both hard and soft, etc. all transfer heat differently, therefore ALL affect your soldering!

Don’t pull your hair out trying to figure these all out. I’ve done that for you! Pick a couple of your favorite soldering surfaces and learn how to use them with the torch set-up you have.

In this 2-day workshop, as we look at common stumbling blocks, traps and solutions, you’ll leave feeling more confident about your soldering skills.

A complete list of what to bring will be sent out to you by the instructor about one week prior to the workshop.

Materials fee paid to the instructor of $20
