W-JW113 Titanium Earrings with Gail Thayer

December 13 @ 10:00 am 2:00 pm

All levels welcome!

Titanium is a great metal for earrings. It is strong, lightweight, inexpensive and it anodizes to an array of marvelous colors. Precut components will be available or you may cut components using the shear and disk cutters in a variety of shapes. Experienced metalworkers may also saw shapes. Then we will texture using hammers, the flex shaft and/or roller printing with a variety of steel and brass pattern plates. Then the fun begins with coloring. Each component can be one or multiple colors. Findings can be colored to match or contrast with components. Lastly, components will be joined with jump rings. Most students will have time to make 3 pairs of earrings if they desire. A materials fee of $10 per pair of earrings is paid directly to the instructor. Please bring cash or check. Ages 17 and up.
