PT371 Advanced Japanese Sumi-e: Mastering Spirit and Form with Noriko Kuehn

This advanced Sumi-e course delves deep into the sophisticated techniques and philosophical underpinnings of Japanese ink painting. Designed for experienced Sumi-e practitioners who have mastered the fundamental techniques, this intensive course pushes the boundaries of traditional practice while honoring its core principles. Students will explore complex subjects including dynamic landscapes (sansui-ga), birds in flight, human figures, and abstract expressions of natural phenomena such as wind and rain.

Supply List: A $20 fee is paid directly to the instructor to cover cost of Sumi Ink, Japanese brush & some paper which the student keeps.
