PT368 Introduction to Japanese Sumi-e with Noriko Kuehn

Discover the serene artistry of Sumi-e, the traditional Japanese art of ink painting. In this course, students will learn the fundamental techniques of this meditative art form that captures the essence of subjects with minimal, fluid brushstrokes.  We begin by exploring proper brush handling, ink preparation, and essential brushstrokes known as the Four Gentlemen: bamboo, orchid, chrysanthemum, and plum blossom.

Supply List:  A $30 fee is paid directly to the instructor to cover cost of Sumi Ink, Japanese brush & some paper which the student keeps.
