Dunedin, FL — August 1, 2025 — The Dunedin Fine Art Center (DFAC) is thrilled to announce its inaugural pop culture convention—DFAC CON 2025—taking place on Saturday, September 6th, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This new event is a dynamic celebration of the artistic side of fandom and pop culture, welcoming fans of all ages and backgrounds to experience a creative twist on the traditional con format.
From anime and video games to cosplay and card games, DFAC CON is designed to be accessible, inclusive, and above all—fun! The event will feature a variety of hands-on activities, interactive exhibits, and live entertainment that highlights the vibrant connection between pop culture and the arts.
Event Highlights Include:
- Star Wars Costume Clubs – Meet and take photos with costumed members of the 501st Legion, Rebel Legion, Mandalorian Mercs, and more.
- Flight Simulator – Take to the skies with DFAC’s aviation experience.
- Costume Contest – Show off your best cosplay and compete for prizes.
- Card Game Room – Play Pokémon, Magic the Gathering, sabacc, or observe a round of Dungeons & Dragons.
- Smash Bros. Tournament – Battle for the DFAC Smash Championship Belt in a 1v1, double-elimination tournament. ($5 entry)
- Door Prizes – Attendees will have multiple chances to win exciting giveaways throughout the day.
- Silent Auction – Bid on rare movie posters and exclusive collectible items.
- Themed Food & Drink – Enjoy fandom-inspired snacks and beverages.
