Hanging out, drinking delicious coffee, talking about art… ahhhh, that’s the life! Well, that IS the life at least for an hour or so each month at the Dunedin Fine Art Center’s Coffee and Conversation series. Enjoy coffee (Presented by the Sterling Society of DFAC) and insights as each month’s invited guest holds forth on their own area of expertise. Admission to these relaxed talks is $5 and is FREE to current DFAC members.
Thursday, April 11th, 2019 at 12 noon, the series hosts photographer Mikell Herrick. Mikell will share some thoughts about improving skills and producing better nature and wildlife images, from tips on where and how to shoot our many Florida birds in action, to why you should learn how to edit your photos, with lots of examples from her extensive image collection. Whether you only use your phone to take pictures or have a DSLR camera and want to make the most of it, there are some basics that will help you be a better photographer in the natural world
Mikell Herrick is a self-taught photographer who takes pictures 365 days a year, now that she is “retired” here in Dunedin. Her favourite subjects are the many birds she sees daily on the pond in her backyard or in all their area habitats, and her cat Cisco, but she also loves to take candid pictures of people, events, landscapes, sunsets, insects, the night sky and anything else that catches her interest. A Canadian transplant with four adult sons, she moved to Upstate NY in 2000, when she married her American husband. Alan. They moved permanently to Dunedin five years ago, and think they live in paradise; family and friends who visit them here agree.
So stop by for some Coffee & Conversation. Or call ahead to the Palm Cafe’ (298.DFAC ext 237) and have lunch waiting for you!
