Dear DFAC Family and Friends,
Wish you were here … once upon a time, postcards were the announcement of a delightful vacation… today it’s probably a post on Facebook.
This is the sentiment that comes to mind today and has everyday since DFAC closed. Walking through the empty galleries and seeing the beautiful pieces created by our family of students, members, and faculty gives me a feeling that the works are waiting. It’s a bit eerie, yet comforting that this organization that opened its doors in 1975 has given the community so much beauty and love over the years. The Galleries and studios are waiting quietly to reopen.
Be assured the powerful and beautiful work done by our students, members and faculty are here in the galleries and these almost sacred rooms bring the art to life. It is much more than pictures on a wall. Until our doors are open again, you may look at these works by going to our website: www.dfac.org. Scroll down to Exhibits and click on Current. Or, look for the ART of social distancing section. There you can join in the conversation as our community continues to share the love and creativity, we value in each other.
DFAC may be closed but our hearts, minds and creative talents are not. We are with you and think of you often.
Thank you for joining us in celebrating the beauty and rhythm and especially now, the healing qualities of the visual arts.
It is with anticipation and excitement that we look forward to the day when we will again open our doors and share face-to-face the wonder that is the DFAC community.
Thank you for being a part of our community. We send out a BRAVO for all of the caring people helping us and others through this crisis.
With my Warmest Wishes – Stay Safe and Healthy,
George Ann Bissett
President and CEO
