PR504 Beginner Intaglio Etching With Rebekah Lazaridis

Introduction to basic and safe methods of etching with a non-acid solution (ferric chloride) using copper plates. Printmaking experience is not necessary but having taken a drawing class or have some basic drawing ability is required. Those with etching experience can move their work to the next level as this also includes students at an intermediate level. The use of a large and small etching press with emphasis on communal studio practices are emphasized. Beginners focus on line drawing etchings and Intermediate students can explore aquatint techniques.

Ages 17 and up.
