Brenda Mattson has been an artist since she was 7 years old after receiving a set of oil paints from her grandfather. Now, we find Brenda specializing in pastels & oil with her works on display internationally. She is one of seven people worldwide who received the 2019 Eminent Master Pastelist award presented by the International Association of Pastelist Societies (IAPS). Brenda gains her inspiration through nature and the outdoors, favoring in the landscapes and cultures of Australia, Ireland, and Italy, as well as her home in Michigan. Variety is important, so Brenda likes to take a break from landscapes sometimes and dabble in portraits. She especially loves painting children because of the sweetness and innocence that is able to be captured.
