The Dunedin Fine Art Center offers classes and workshops for students of all skill levels. We also offer workshops from incredible local artists AND workshops from artists from across the country and around the world (though the last couple of years has made the last two a tad more difficult, if not impossible!).
Workshops are a great way to get a feel for a new media or technique, or to refine skills that you already have. This Spring has seen sold-out workshops for kids on spring break along with Food Arts workshops featuring Paella, Indian, Italian, and Sushi. Students have filled workshops on Jewelry, Paper Mache Sculpture, Paint Pouring, and Welding, as well as the more traditional Painting, and Drawing!
What has been particularly pleasing has been the ability to welcome back more out-of-town artists this Spring. Here a couple that you might have missed:

Elio Camacho was born in Madeira, an island south of Portugal. Elio immigrated to California with his family when he was young. His paintings are in the Alla Prima style to capture the first impression and light on a given subject. He has been featured as an “Artist to Watch” in SouthwestArt Magazine. His goal is to assist students in capturing the particular mood of the moment and to express themselves in a bold and colorful way, while capturing the beauty and spontaneity of nature.

Holly McKeen is an internationally recognized ceramicist and has exhibited and presented workshops across North America, and by invitation at Escola de Ceramica de La Bisbal, Spain. She has been published in Ceramics Monthly, Clay Times and TerrArt – Revista Ceramica Contemporania of Barcelona as well as other periodicals and guild publications. Holly has gained increased recognition with recent regional awards for her unique vessels and work as a professional potter, and she is currently moving her ceramic studies toward a broader array of special effects glazes on porcelain, featuring earthen and rare-earth materials. Holly’s work incorporates many years of experience with the precision formulation and application of complex glazes, utilizing atmospheric controls and computerized technologies that are punctuated by the connected play of heat and flame.

Nancy Nowak earned her BFA degree from Cleveland Institute of Art, and has exhibited her pastel paintings throughout the US, Italy, and France. Her work has won numerous top national and international awards. Nancy’s paintings have been featured in the book, Pure Pastel, Plein Air Magazine, Southwest Art Magazine, Pratique de Arts and multiple times in Pastel Journal Magazine where she won the Ruth Richeson Gold Pastel Award (2018) and first place in the landscape category of their Top 100 Pastel Competition (2016). Nancy has achieved the status of Eminent Pastelist with IAPS as well as being on IAPS’s Board of Directors. She is a Signature Member of Pastel Society of America, and a Signature Member of American Impressionist Society.
