It’s All About the Kids for ART Fest 2018!

An exciting NEW FOOD themed hands-on exhibition, great partners, games, food, music and take-home art activities for kids from pre-school to 12 years old, all come together September 8th for a fun filled day for the entire family.

“We’ve worked with Kiwanis for many years with this art festival” explained Todd Still, Director of Youth Education at the Dunedin Fine Art Center. “This year, we’ve got a tremendous group of presentation partners that are going to make for a VERY festive event,” he added.

This year’s FANTABULOUS FOODS theme is carried into a children’s art exhibit by the same name, featuring works from DFAC’s award-winning Summer Academy. The award ceremony will be at 10:30 am. The Dance and Circus Arts of Tampa Bay, who will be putting on an exciting presentation. Kid’s ART Fest 2018 is an Invitation to let your mind go!.

“We have all the great hands-on activities that always accompany a new installation in the children’s museum inside DFAC,” explained George Ann Bissett, DFAC’s President & CEO. “with this year’s exhibition being based on kids natural inclination to explore the world of food, it just adds a tremendous amount of fun to what is always an already festive event” she concluded.

The festival which runs from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm features lots of hands-on fun which will include the EVER popular paint-a-car activity, where kids get to paint their designs on a real automobile supplied by Florida Auto Exchange. Hot dogs will be prepared by the Kiwanis Club of Dunedin from 11 am until they are gone and there will be live music. This is always a lot of fun explains Mr. Still. “Friday night, we have the opening reception for our gallery exhibitions, but the Saturday, it’s all about the kids!”

10 am – 2:00 pm: Summer Art Academy Exhibit and New children’s hands-on art museum exhibit, “Fantabulous Foods” opens

10 am – 2:00 pm: Art activities, games and sidewalk chalk art

10:30 am: Summer Art Academy Awards

10:15 am: Wheels on Wheels Sign up (ages 8 and older)

11:00 am till their gone: Hot Dogs – (thanks Kiwanis Club of Dunedin!) YUM

11:00 am – 1:30 pm Wheels on Wheels (sign up required, ages 8 and older)

11:00 am – 1:00 pm Car painting (car provided by Florida Auto Exchange)

Special Guest Stilt Walkers from Dance and Circus Arts of Tampa Bay
