FREE Coffee and Conversation with Lina Teixeira at the Dunedin Fine Art Center.
Hanging out, drinking delicious coffee, talking about art… ahhhh, that’s the life! Well, that IS the life at least for an hour or so each month at the Dunedin Fine Art Center’s Coffee and Conversation series. Enjoy FREE coffee (Presented by the Sterling Society of DFAC) and FREE insights as each month’s invited guest holds forth on their own area of expertise.
Thursday, September 10th at 12 noon,the series hosts artist Lina Teixeira. Lina is a fashion designer and wearable artist who loves turning the everyday mundane in to beautiful forms of Wearable ART. In case you missed it, Lina closed DFAC’s wearable ART show this year with her incredible collection entitled “Mundo.”
Born and raised in Montreal, Canada to Portuguese parents, Lina Teixeira now resides in Dunedin Florida. She is a master in multi-tasking. She is a busy mom of two, business owner, published author, special concepts director, and is a passionate Wearable Art artist. Lina’s wearable Art has been viewed on an international scale as well as being featured in local news media and various Public forums. Her art has been featured at the Mahafey Theater and the Museum of Fine Arts, St Petersburg; her work has been consistently sought out by fellow artists in the industry as well as media and private clients. She has been doing the Fashion week circuit which included opening for Michael Kors and Project Runway Winners in Atlantic City and she closed Brooklyn Fashion week with her “Something Borrowed “collection, in which was awarded Couture Designer of the Year.
She recently started taking on private clients who commission her wearable art for advertising, promoting, and branding. She also has a ready to wear collection available on line as well as designed the HipZii, smart phone hip purse. She opened her new Studio 617 in August, 2014.
