FREE Coffee and Conversation with Ya La’ford at the Dunedin Fine Art Center.
Hanging out, drinking delicious coffee, talking about art… ahhhh, that’s the life! Well, that IS the life at least for an hour or so each month at the Dunedin Fine Art Center’s Coffee and Conversation series. Enjoy FREE coffee (Presented by the Sterling Society of DFAC) and FREE insights as each month’s invited guest holds forth on their own area of expertise.
Thursday, October 10th at 12 noon, the series hosts Ya La’ford. Ya will discuss her backgrounds in art and as a lawyer, and how one influences the other. She will discuss how she takes evidence and manipulates it differently on canvas than she would in a courtroom. Her work is an amalgamation of many cultures’ stories and can fuse the past with present utilizing unusual green earth application and manipulation of acrylic, dye, ink, bleach, egg, resin, alcohol, luxury material, thread and natural weathering.
Ya La’ford, J.D., M.F.A., (born in New York) earned a bachelor from Florida State University, a Juris Doctor from University of Florida, and a Masters in Fine Arts from Boston. La’ford maintains her studio practice in both Dunedin and New York. La’ford is an educator, visual painter, installation artist, and muralist. La’ford’s paintings are included in corporate, private and public collections, and she has exhibited her work nationally and internationally. www.yalaford.com / www.yalafordportfolio.com
