FREE Coffee and Conversation with Kathy Hays at the Dunedin Fine Art Center.
Hanging out, drinking delicious coffee, talking about art… ahhhh, that’s the life! Well, that IS the life at least for an hour or so each month at the Dunedin Fine Art Center’s Coffee and Conversation series. Enjoy FREE coffee (Presented by the Sterling Society of DFAC) and FREE insights as each month’s invited guest holds forth on their own area of expertise.
Thursday, February 13th at 12 noon, the series hosts Kathy Hays. Kathy will discuss how the ancient textile of felt making has become a contemporary art form. Felt can be worn, manipulated as sculpture or framed wall art. The possibilities are endless and are only limited to ones imagination. The art of felt making is no longer your mothers blanket!
Kathy Hays is a self-taught fiber artist who enjoys all things fiber. Though her main focus is felt-making, her background includes: doll-making, surface design and silk papermaking. Kathy has taught fiber-related classes for Convergence 2008, John C. Campbell Folk School, Florida Tropical Weaver Guild and the Tampa Bay Surface Design Guild.
So stop by for some Coffee & Conversation (both of which are FREE!)
