Fall Exhibits Kick-Off 2017-18 Season at the Dunedin Fine Art Center
DFAC’s fall exhibits showcase an ensemble of exceptional artists from near and far—highlighting the thrills and skills of mark-making and story-telling. Works on paper are strongly represented: via drawings, paintings, collages, photographs, constructions and prints.
Douglas-Whitley + Meta B. Brown Galleries
9.8.17 – 10.15.17
As DFAC celebrates 25 years of printmaking instruction, we honor its founder—beloved artist and recently retired faculty member, Stephen Littlefield. In Etch-a-sketch, see works by Littlefield’s students, colleagues and distinguished printmakers from the Tampa Bay community alongside drawings by artists with historical connections to DFAC. Artists include: Holly Bird, Lin Carte, John Costin, Neverne Covington, Coralette Damme, Ummarid Eitharong, Syd Entel, Gail Gamble, Aliosky Garcia, Susan Gehring, Marjorie Greene, Debra Mixon Holliday, Heather Leisch, Melissa Miller Nece, Sharon Norwood, Todd Still and Stephen Schatz among others.

In the tilted world of Pulp Fiction, the combined talents of these multi-media artists take you for a spin to places unknown: photographer, Thomas Allen; collagist / writer, Lou Beach; printmaker / zine artist, Coralette Damme; mixed media guru + author, Denis Gaston; designer / illustrator, Craigio Hopson; dioramist, Kyle; sketchbook dreamer, Daniel Mrgan and painter-poet, Kenneth Shaw.
Entel Family Gallery
9.8.17 -12.24.17
In the group exhibition, Le Papier, seven artists present works on (and of) paper. See the watercolors of Caitlin Albritton, Eva Avenue and Kristin Beauvoir. Paintings by Leslie Fry and Laine Nixon and the collages of Suzanna Scott. Finally, we remember painter, sculptor, printmaker + visionary, Roland Poska who died earlier this year. Poska had a solo show at DFAC in 2005 of his extraordinary pulp paintings and sculptures. Here, a small sampling of his enormous heart and soul, return to us.
