Food Trucks Make It Hard to CONTAIN the TRIFECTA of Events at The Dunedin Fine Art Center!
After years of, contain it! being double billed with TRASHY TREASURES, DFAC’s venerable Art Garage Sale, the addition this year of food trucks promises to rev up what has become a uniquely fringe arts festival. The addition of EAT THIS! makes it a tasty triple header noted Ken Hannon DFAC’s associate executive director. Trashy Treasures runs indoors and contain it! outdoors, so art lovers and buyers were already getting TWO events for the price of one, he said. The addition of the food adds something for everyone’s taste buds also!
Food Trucks for EAT THIS! the Mini Rally include: Ballers Travelling Bistro, FoodeeZ Mobile Catering, La Creperia Café “Crepes to Go”, Michelle Faedo’s On The Go, Tamales & South Of
The Border – (America’s Disaster Relief) and Wicked Wiches.
contain it! which is billed as a multi-media installation fair, where artists rework the interior of PODS (no drawing on the walls please) to reflect their unique take on the space. The idea is to have someone step inside each POD and feel transported into the artist’s imagination said George Ann Bissett, DFAC’s executive director.
This year’s container artists include Kelly Boehmer, Deon Blackwell, Jordi Williams, Mitzi Gordon,Alain Salesse and Victoria Block.
For those unfamiliar with Trashy Treasures, the Bay area’s most loved art garage sale, it’s just that. People donate art works that they’ve perhaps grown tired of, and art supplies they no longer need to DFAC. The Dunedin Fine Art Center then offers a select group for sale by silent auction for the event the evening of Friday the 10th and then prices the rest of it to sell on a first-
come first-served garage sale basis on Saturday the 11th. It’s great fun and needless to say, some INCREDIBLE values can be had.
The Trifecta of events run for just one evening and one day February 10th & 11th, 2012. Friday night the 10th promises to be another legendary DFAC party starting at 6:00 pm, with drinks, LIVE music and of course all of that incredible food!
Admission to the Friday night party is $5 while the exhibition will be open FREE to the public, Saturday the 11th from 9am – 2pm.
Saturday the 11th, EAT THIS! will feature breakfast fare starting at 9am…. Come hungry…
