Dual Gallery Talk to Close Exhibit at the Dunedin Fine Art Center.
Friday, October 11 at 6:30 pm, DFAC offers a unique evening of insight and inquiry into their current exhibitions, Spirited: Religious Folk Art from The Drapkin Collection and enCircled, an exhibition of modern mandalas.
The Art of the Center: Visualization and the Mandala
with enCircled Artist, Richard Entel
An innovation predating GoogleEarth by thousands of years, the densely inventive alternative universe of the MANDALA opens up layer by layer to reveal timeless architecture, subtle landscapes and complex concepts. Learning about the purposeful structure of a mandala can awaken a deeper understanding of the way visualization works.
Rich Entel is a visual artist and physician whose work is part of the current show “enCircled”. He has a strong interest in Tibetan art and has recently traveled to the Indian Himalayas.
He is the son of Syd and Irwin Entel, active members of the Dunedin Fine Art Center.
Guatemalan Dance Masks
with author, Dr. Joel Brown
Joel E. Brown was educated at M.I.T. He is a retired medical school professor and author, currently living in Sarasota. A longtime colleague and friend of Dr. Drapkin, his book, Masks of Guatemalan Traditional Dances is considered the Bible on the subject.
Dual Gallery Talks with Richard Entel & Dr. Joel Brown – Friday, October 11, 2013 at 6:30pm – FREE admission for DFAC members $5 for Non-Members
