FREE Coffee and Conversation with Bonnie Bowman at the Dunedin Fine Art Center.
Hanging out, drinking delicious coffee, talking about art… ahhhh, that’s the life! Well, that IS the life at least for an hour or so each month at the Dunedin Fine Art Center’s Coffee and Conversation series. Enjoy FREE coffee (Presented by the Sterling Society of DFAC) and FREE insights as each month’s invited guest holds forth on their own area of expertise.
Thursday, January 10th, 2013 at 12 noon, the series hosts artist Bonnie Bowman. Bonnie will present a timely program on Eco Dying with natural dyes. After a brief overview of the traditional natural dying processes, she will look at how to find and identify plants that may produce worthwhile dyes, extracting the color from those plants and making them colorfast. Bonnie will then look at the pros and cons of natural vs. synthetic dyes.
Bonnie Bowman is an artist who believes the pursuit of mastering ancient craft techniques is relevant and essential to the well being of our “present minds.” She has sold her work through commissions from private and corporate clients, as well as produced work marketed and sold to an international market. Bonnie says her greatest passion is “teaching the art of weaving, basketry and clay to students of all ages and abilities in a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere.”
So stop by for some Coffee & Conversation (both of which are FREE) Or call ahead to the Palm Cafe’ (298.DFAC ext 237) and have lunch waiting for you!
