Dunedin Fine Art Center Unveils Fall Exhibits Running September 13th to December 23rd, 2024
The Dunedin Fine Art Center (DFAC) is excited to announce its fall lineup of exhibits, offering a dynamic array of artistic expressions that will captivate visitors from September 13th through December 23rd, 2024. This season’s exhibitions feature both celebrated artists and local talents, providing a rich tapestry of creativity that explores themes of transformation, journey, and craftsmanship.
Featured Exhibitions:
Aneka Ingold: Metamorphosis – 09.13.24 to 12.23.24
Aneka Ingold, the recipient of the prestigious $50,000 Bennett Prize in 2019, presents her stunning mixed media works that delve into surrealistic figurative realism. Ingold’s intricate drawings and paintings explore themes of transformation, weaving together narratives that captivate the imagination.
Denis Gaston: Forty Years of Making Marks – 09.13.24 to 12.23.24
A retrospective celebrating the legendary Denis Gaston, whose four decades of work have earned him a reputation for humor, soulfulness, and boundless creativity. This exhibit highlights the evolution of Gaston’s unique style and his enduring impact on the art community.
Hudson River Valley—Echoes – 09.13.24 to 12.23.24
This group exhibition features works inspired by DFAC’s October 2022 trip to the Hudson River Valley, hosted by the Sterling Society. The pieces reflect the historical and natural beauty of the region, showcasing the artistic responses of those who traveled and experienced this iconic American landscape.
Quilter’s Crossing Challenge – 09.13.24 to 10.20.24
A showcase of talent from a beloved local quilt guild, this annual themed challenge highlights the artistry and innovation of quilting. Each piece is a testament to the skill and creativity of these textile artists.
Rivers, Trails and Caminos: The Journey – 09.13.24 to 10.20.24
An open Call for Artists invites both representational and abstract works that explore the theme of “The Journey.” This exhibition will present a diverse array of interpretations, offering visitors a thought-provoking experience as they reflect on the various paths we travel in life.
Opening Reception & Artist Talk:
The fall exhibits will kick off with a special opening reception on Friday, September 13th. The evening begins with an Artist Talk from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., where guests can gain insights directly from the artists about their work and inspirations. Following the talk, the reception will take place from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Admission is $10, with free entry for DFAC members. This event offers a perfect opportunity to be among the first to view the new exhibits while enjoying an engaging night of art and conversation.
