The first two days will be spent learning how to make the individual body pieces and how to attach them together. You will learn how to “dress” them and add facial features. They will be bisque fired and ready to paint with underglazes on day 3. Your pieces will be ready for pick up as soon as they come out of the kiln. We will cover modern day Majolica\, stenciling\, painting with underglazes\, wax resist\, bubble painting\, masking\, slip trailing\, sgraffito\, flicking\, sponging\, using oxides for antiquing\, and others. Students will make slab tiles and bowls out of slump molds to practice the techniques. \n\n\n\nThey will learn to adapt designs taken from fabrics\, or paintings or their favorite photos.
