It’s Back… It’s LIVE!!!
Hanging out, drinking delicious coffee, talking about art… ahhhh, that’s the life! Well, that IS the life at least for an hour or so each month at the Dunedin Fine Art Center’s Coffee and Conversation series. Enjoy coffee (Presented by the Sterling Society of DFAC) and insights as each month’s invited guest holds forth on their own area of expertise. Admission to these relaxed talks is $5 and is FREE to current DFAC members.
Thursday, January 19th, 2023 at 12 noon, the series welcomes artist Kathy Durdin. In her presentation, Kathy will provide an overview of the elements of composition, with some illustrations. Also, she will provide you some tools that you can apply to your own work, to enhance your planning in the future and to evaluate your work. Kathy will also share ideas about what to include in a checklist to use to evaluate one’s work both before and after painting. You might even be motivated to rework that prior painting, with much greater success!
BIO
Kathy Durdin has always loved watercolor as a medium while it is very unforgiving, its freshness cannot be replicated. Kathy is work very hard to loosen up her brushstrokes, to take advantage of the characteristics of the medium.
Kathy is a signature member of Florida, Southern, Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Watercolor West, Tallahassee and Florida Suncoast Watercolor Societies. She was featured in the 2013 Watercolor Artists’ “Ones to Watch.” She was also the 2012 President of Florida Watercolor Society and am its current Director of Operations. Her work is in permanent collections in Florida at Tampa General and the President’s Collection at the College of William and Mary. She is also Secretary/Treasurer of Tampa Arts Alliance, on the Board of Tampa Bay Businesses for Culture and the Arts, and President of Tampa Regional Artists.
