An Acrylic Journey – with Textures & Mediums!


Colors are very personal – so use what you enjoy! I will be using Golden Acrylics (Fluid and Heavy Body). Pick a few or all!

My Favorite Colors:

Modern Colors: Hansa Yellow Med., Quinacridone Magenta, Phthalo Blue (GS)

These are Transparent Colors

Mineral Colors: Cadmium Yellow Med., Cadmium Red Med., Ultramarine Blue

These are Opaque Colors

Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold, Alizarin Crimson (Hue), Transparent Red Oxide, Cerulean Blue, Titanium White, Carbon Black, Raw Umber, Titan Buff, Iridescent Bronze (Fine), Iridescent Copper (Fine), Iridescent Gold (Fine), Iridescent Stainless Steel (Course), Iridescent Silver (Fine) – I have Titanium White in Heavy Body and Fluids

Loew Cornell – ¾” (Look for the Taklon brand)

Catalyst by Princeton – Polytip Bristle

1” – 2” Flat for applying gesso and/or varnish (cheap)

Round sponge


Gold Leaf (Imitation), Gold Leaf Adhesive (Mona Lisa)

Paper Towels, Water Bucket & Spray Bottle, foam plates as a palette or palette pad

Your own reference material – photo’s etc. for inspiration

Toner copies for Image Transfers

Table Protection – I use the Dollar Store plastic Table Cloths

Stretched Canvas, Wood Panel, Yupo, Watercolor Paper – any size

Gels & Mediums:

Golden Soft Gel Gloss, High Solid Gel,

Crackle Paste, Light Molding Paste

Golden Polymer Medium Gloss

Liquitex Mat Medium, Clear Tar Gel

Gesso – Fluid Gesso

You do NOT have to use all mediums
