We will learn how to plan for success by using the elements of design\, color theory and  painting plans. I prefer the sheet form which comes in 22×30” which can be cut down to four ¼ sheets which is a good size for class work. \n\n\n\nBrushes \n\n\n\nWatercolor brushes are soft and made of sable\, squirrel\, ox hair\, and many synthetics. DESCRIPTION:Mondays\, 6 Week ClassAll levels welcome! \n\n\n\n\n\nThis course is designed to help students of all levels develop strategies to strengthen the gesture\, proportion\, perspective\, and color in their portrait paintings by the time-honored tradition of making master copies. Students will be working from high quality 2D reproductions in this course as a matter of convenience\, but all principles can be applied to painting from a live model. We will explore different choices of palettes and techniques dependent upon the student’s experience level\, and their artists of choice. There will be broad information shared with the entire class that will apply to all\, and from there the instruction will be tailored to the individual students’ needs. This course is for all levels of experience\, you don’t have to be a master yourself to learn from the masters! \n\n\n\nClick Here for Supply List\nThis list of paints is meant to be a solid base for traditional\, representational portraiture\, and will cover most of your needs. Although many past masters have used vermillion\, I have not included that pigment because it is so cost prohibitive. Back-strap weaving is at once a delicate and beautiful art form\, highly portable (you can tie it to any post\, tree\, or even a nail in the wall)\, and wonderfully diverse. With this form of weaving you can make original table runners\, scarves\, place mats\, curtains\, shawls\, table clothes\, and much more. Students will learn to warp the thread and set up a loom\, and then to weave a small table runner with some traditional Mayan designs. The thread (many colors are available)\, loom\, warping board\, needle\, back-strap\, and tie cord are all included in the materials fee. \n\n\n\nAges 17 and up.
