Learn basic wheel throwing techniques while experimenting with underglazes, glazes and non-traditional materials added to clay. Individual expression is encouraged. The student will also learn the difference between drape and press molds. Our adventure will lead us to create castles with dragons, anime decorative boxes and the fish whistle to name a few. Join the Queen Of Clay to learn basic wheel throwing techniques(centering, opening, flooring, pulling, etc) and how to set up, operate and then clean the wheels. Students will also focus on hand-building with strong emphasis on activities that develop imagination and inventiveness. Slab, pinch, carving and coil methods will be explored as well as glazing techniques. For new and continuing students, ages 10 – 17 yr. Minimum of 6 Maximum of 10. This is a drop off program.
