This class will be focused on getting back to basics: Improving throwing skills; working with form; making bottles and functional pieces.
The first 4 weeks will be dedicated to making and the last two evenings will focus on finishing and glazing using crystalline glazes.
Students should have their own tools and have at least intermediate throwing skills. It is helpful to come to class with an idea of what you want to improve upon so the instructor can be prepared with demonstrations that focus on your specific needs.

The first 4 weeks will be dedicated to exploring some very basic teapot forms - slight variations on creating all the pieces necessary in making a functional teapot. Week 5 will be dedicated to preparing the pieces for crystalline glaze or other more utilitarian glazes. Week 6 will be focused on glazing and loading the kiln for a crystalline glaze firing.
Ages 17 and up.

This will be an exploratory class focusing on composite pieces - combining several forms to create a final, more complex form.
The first 4 weeks will focus on designing and creating these forms. Week 5 will be spent preparing these forms for the glazing session. Week 6 will be dedicated to glazing using crystalline glazes and loading the kiln.
Ages 17 and up.

The 5th week will be dedicated to preparing pieces for glaze week. Week 6 will be a crystalline glaze session.
