Metal clay is a made from microscopic particles of metal mixed with an organic binder that is worked much like pottery clay. The binder burns off during kiln firing, fusing the particles into a solid piece of metal. Metal clay allows for deep textures, sculpted and molded elements, and great details that can be combined with traditional metal smithed components. It is ideal for mixed media jewelry combining CZ's, glass, ceramic and other materials. Projects in bronze and silver clays emphasize technique, construction and design.
A fee of $100 will be paid to the instructor for bronze and silver clays and other materials used in class.
