W-PR516 - The Multiple Color Woodcut

An introduction to multiple color woodcut printmaking. No printmaking experience is required, but some basic art class background is necessary. Students will learn a method of woodcut using oil-based inks and an alternative registration system. We'll mostly print by hand, but you have the option of learning how to use a press.

By the end of this 2-day workshop, a student will have finished a 4"x6" woodcut print in three colors or more and will be able to pursue multiple color relief printing in their own home studio with minimal equipment.*Expect to do some carving at home on Saturday night!*
