Immerse yourself in the beauty of traditional Japanese landscapes as we explore the rich cultural heritage and artistic techniques of Japan. In this class, you'll learn the art of creating serene and evocative landscapes, inspired by iconic elements such as cherry blossoms, pagodas, mountains, and flowing rivers. Noriko will guide you through various Japanese traditional painting styles to capture the essence of nature and express emotions through brush strokes. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, we will unlock the secrets of Japanese landscape art and bring the tranquility of these picturesque scenes to life on canvas. Embark on a journey to discover the harmony between art and nature in the land of the rising sun.
A $20 materials fee is paid directly to the instructor to cover cost of sumi ink and use of Japanese brushes. Instructor will provide a variety of Japanese papers to try in the first class. Students need to bring a water color set by the second class (Gansai or Chinese watercolor set)
