DESCRIPTION:Fridays\, 6 Week ClassAdvanced\, Professional Only \n\n\n\n\n\nExploration of traditional\, safe methods of etching with anon-acid solution (ferric chloride) using copper plates. This Friday session is for students with considerable etching experience who may expand on more advanced techniques or try mezzotints (Please contact instructor in advance to order plates.) The studio is equipped with both a large 36” and smaller 19” press along with a rosin box and spray paint area for aquatints. Using a grid\, you will draw the image on a canvas while mapping out the shadow and light patterns. DESCRIPTION:Beginner  \n\n\n\n\n\nThis Class is designed for beginners and students with some experience with clay.  Students will learn the fundamental techniques of hand building\, including coiling\, pinching\, and slab construction\, to create sculptural vessels. They’ll explore how to manipulate clay to achieve organic forms\, textures\, and detailed surfaces\, while gaining a deeper understanding of balance\, proportion\, and the interplay of form and function. Additionally\, students will be introduced to surface decoration techniques such as carving\, glazing\, and underglazing.
