DESCRIPTION:Thursdays\, 6 Week CourseAll levels welcome! \n\n\n\n\n\nIn this course\, students will learn the language of color in an easy to understand\, objective format. This will greatly aid in their ability to describe and mix any color\, and to maintain control of their palette. In short\, we’ll be discussing practical color theory for painters that can be used in everyday painting scenarios. We will also cover “light logic”\, or the effect that light has in revealing form of any kind. Subject matter is open to the individual student\, as portraiture\, still life\, and landscape all use the principles covered in this course. For practical purposes\, students will work from hard copy photographs or screen images from a laptop or iPad during class hours. \n\n\n\nClick Here for Supply List\nThis list is the minimum\, more colors can be collected over time. Most brands have “artist quality” paints\, and “student grade” versions. Get the artist quality if you’re able\, but student grade will suffice in the short term. DESCRIPTION:Fridays\, 6 Week ClassBeginner\, Intermediate \n\n\n\n\n\nThis Class is designed for beginners and students with some experience with clay.  Students will learn the fundamental techniques of hand building\, including coiling\, pinching\, and slab construction\, to create sculptural vessels. They’ll explore how to manipulate clay to achieve organic forms\, textures\, and detailed surfaces\, while gaining a deeper understanding of balance\, proportion\, and the interplay of form and function. Additionally\, students will be introduced to surface decoration techniques such as carving\, glazing\, and underglazing. By the end of the course\, students will not only have developed their technical skills but also their ability to express themselves through ceramics\, creating unique\, sculptural pieces with personal meaning. DESCRIPTION:Mondays\, 6 Week ClassAll levels welcome!  \n\n\n\n\n\nThe ancient Mayan art of back-strap weaving is a delicate and beautiful art form\, highly portable (you can tie it to any post\, tree\, or even a nail in the wall)\, and you can make original table runners\, scarves\, place mats\, shawles and much more. Students will learn to warp the thread\, set up a loom\, and then weave a small table runner with traditional Mayan designs.
