2018 Holiday Show, Starry Starry Delights

Do you love the twinkle of the holiday? Does your heart warm with the tradition of tree decoration and illumination?  Then, we are looking for your creativity for the 2018 Holiday Show! Create your own ornament that goes with this year’s theme Starry Starry Delights. DFAC loves supporting local talented artists and asks for original, high-quality, hand-made ornaments and tree-toppers, with a minimum of 25 pieces provided.

Our 2018 holiday show begins with Art Harvest, one of Florida’s premier outdoor art shows that held in our backyard. Art Harvest attracts about 30,000 attendees each year. Last year, sales reached a record high!

DFAC will display artists’ creations of ornaments and tree-toppers starting with the holiday opening Friday, Nov. 2, 2018. The display remains up through Jan. 1, 2019.

3 Ways Holiday Show Benefits Artists

The DFAC holiday show traditionally attracts a high traffic of people looking for special creations for themselves or a significant someone. Therefore, the high volume of customers leads to increased sales. Artists receive 60% of the sales. Also, there are opportunities to win additional prizes.

DFAC will enter each ornament and tree-topper into its Holiday Ornament Contest. The contest is limited to only artists who submit multiple ornament/topper concepts, with the winner receiving a $50 gift certificate from the DFAC Gallery Shop. Most sparkle and shine, most imaginative, most humorous and most nostalgic are the categories for competition.

Important Dates to Remember

Monday, Aug. 27, 5 pm – Concept Submission Deadline – Please send pictures of your ornament and tree-topper ideas dconte@dfac.org and/or bring a sample to the DFAC Gallery Shop. Along with your sample, include your name contact information, price point, and quantity you intend to make. Remember, there must be a minimum of 25 pieces.

Friday, Aug. 31, – Notification of Acceptance – Submissions will be juried, and DFAC will notify you regarding the acceptance of your idea.

Friday, Oct. 19, 5 pm – Deadline For Ornaments – Participating artists must deliver at least 25 ornaments to Gallery Shop by this time.
