The Gallery Gift Shop is the place to find that unique gift that you've been looking for. From jewelry and paintings to ceramics, wood and even TOYS, we've got just what you're looking for.
Many of our items are made here locally and we're very pleased to offer the fine work of local artists. Recently, we've added works of a more international nature, from artisans across the globe. In the same way that we believe it is important to support our local artists, we believe it's important that artisans wherever they live can earn a living wage from their work. To this end, we've concentrated on finding suppliers who share our belief. We feature many works from Ten Thousand Villages for just that reason!
Ten Thousand Villages provides vital, fair income to Third World people by marketing their handicrafts and telling their stories in North America. Ten Thousand Villages works with artisans who would otherwise be unemployed or underemployed. This income helps pay for food, education, healthcare and housing.
Ten Thousand Villages is one of the largest alternative trade organizations (ATOs) in North America. ATOs connect consumers in North America, Europe, Japan, and Australia to Third World artisans and farmers through fair trade relationships. ATOs benefit disadvantaged people rather than maximizing their own profits. Ten Thousand Villages is a member of the international federation for Alternative Trade.
So, stop by, have a look around - we KNOW you'll be glad you did. And even better, tell your friends about the incredible finds at the Gallery Gift Shop at DFAC!
